It explains what information we collect and when. When you use our Services and connected Products, we collect different types of information. To make it easy and simple to understand we broadly classified the Personal data that is processed:
Identity Data:The data which can directly identify you. They include your email address, name, birth date, gender, age, surname, phone number, address, community username, videos and photos of you among others
Body Metrics Data: This data corresponds to an accurate measurement of your physical features and body activity like but not limited to height, weight, BMI, heart rate, water, fat percentage.
Activity Data: This data corresponds to your physical/sports activity level. They include among others depending on your product, the number of steps, distance traveled, calories burned, calories intake, sleep duration, type of activity, level of activity, activity duration, swimming style and the number of strokes.
Technical Features: This data allows us to improve our own Product and Services rendered to you, which also allows you to use our Products and Services. These mostly include but not limited to device ID, Product activation codes, battery measurement, firmware reports, technical information, and website cookies.
Geographic Data: This data corresponds to your environment, which enables some of our features in the Services provided to you. They include among others, geo-location only when necessary and weather data.
General Account Data: This data is the general account data we collect when you use our Apps to better improve our services. This data includes the App version, Device information (e.g. Device serial number), mobile device information (e.g. smartphone manufacturer, model, operating system).
Contact and Notifications Data: This data correspond to your mobile notifications and alerts. If you want to be notified on your watch when you receive a call, text message, app alert, email, calendar event, you need to activate this in the App settings. We only track that a notification has occurred, we do not store or read the content of the notifications.
INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE US
During Account Creation: When you create a Muse account with us, you would need to provide us with required Personal data like your Identity Data and Body metrics data. You may also choose to provide other types of information, such as a profile photo, community username, food log, alarm, and messages on discussion boards or to your friends on the Services. Your Muse account is an important part of how you interact with our Products and Services. You can always control the personal account you have provided from the profile in your account. All personal data provided to us and stored in your Muse account are protected as described in Muse’s Privacy Policy.
Information While Using Our Applications: Some Personal data is communicated to us when you download, install, and use features of the application. This data may include Identity Data, Body metrics Data, Activity Data, Technical features. It is also through the application that your Personal data is communicated to us when you install and synchronize your Product. Also, through the application, you may activate certain optional features such as geolocation through your telephone. All your Personal data collected when using our applications will be under your Muse account. To help improve your experience or enable certain features of the Services, you may choose to provide us with additional information. For example, you may connect with friends on the Services or invite friends who have not yet joined by providing their email addresses, accessing social networking accounts, or using the contact list on your mobile device. We do not store your contact list and delete it after it is used for adding contacts as friends. If you choose to connect your account on our Services to your account on another service, we may receive information from the other service. For example, if you connect to Facebook or Google, we may receive information like your name, profile picture, age range, language, email address, and friend list. You may also choose to grant us access to your exercise or activity data from another service. You can stop sharing the information from the other service with us by removing our access to that other service.
Payment And Card Information: Muse devices support payments and transactions with third parties. If you activate this feature, you would provide certain information for identification and verification, such as your name, credit, debit or other card numbers, card expiration date, and CVV code. This information is encrypted and sent to your card network, which upon approval sends back to your device a token, which is a set of random digits for engaging in transactions without exposing your card number. For your convenience, we store the last four digits of your card number and your card issuer’s name and contact information. You can remove the token from your account using your account settings. We would be storing your transaction history for the payments being made through Muse device as it would be a part of one of the services being provided through muse applications. If you purchase Muse merchandise on our website, you provide your payment information, including your name, credit or debit card number, card expiration date, CVV code, and billing address. We do not store this payment information in this case. We store your shipping address to fulfill your order. We may, in accordance with applicable law, record your communication with our customer care or with other such contact points. This would enable us to improve our customer care and services. You represent that you have the legal right to use any payment method that you submit to us. The payment service through the website is provided in order to provide access to Services or purchase any merchandise online. Muse does not make a representation of any kind, express or implied, as to the operation of the payment gateway made available through its Services. By accepting/ agreeing to this Policy, you expressly agree that your use of the aforesaid online payment service is entirely at own risk and responsibility of the user.
INFORMATION WE RECEIVE FROM YOUR USE OF OUR SERVICES
Device Information: Your device collects data to estimate a variety of metrics like the number of steps you take, your distance traveled, calories burned, weight, sleep stages, active minutes, and location. The data collected varies depending on which device you use. When your device syncs with our applications or software, data recorded on your device are transferred from your device to our servers.
Location Information: The Services include features that use precise location data, including GPS signals, device sensors, Wi-Fi access points, and cell tower IDs. We collect this type of data if you grant us access to your location. You can always remove our access using your Muse device or mobile device settings. We may also derive your approximate location from your IP address. Our products may operate on multiple device platforms, applications, and services which may also collect your location data. Usage Information: When you access or use our Services, we receive certain usage data. This includes information about your interaction with the Services, for example, when you view or search content, install applications or software, create or log into your account, pair your Muse device to your account. We also collect data about the devices and computers you use to access the Services, including IP addresses, browser type, language, operating system, Muse or mobile device information (including device and application identifiers), the referring web page, pages visited, location (depending on the permissions you have granted us), and cookie information.
Chatbot Information: We would keep a log of your communication with the different AI bots in our application. We would also store particular information you have provided in the chatbot application about your preferences, mood, comfort level, feedback on the goals you are working and the suggested training plans for them. For example, when you are training for a marathon according to a particular training plan, we would collect feedback from you on how you are faring on the training plan, based on this and the device data collected we would make recommendations and personalize the training more for you.
Contact and Notifications Information: When you are using the App and the device, If you want to be notified on your watch when you receive a call, text message, app alert, email, calendar event, you need to activate this in the App settings. We only track that a notification has occurred, we do not store or read the content of the notifications.
If you want to favorite your contact and get specially notified when you receive a call, you will be asked to add the contact details. The app only takes the information required like the phone number and the linked name to provide the favorite call alert feature. We neither store or share this data with any other third parties.
